On Friday April 12 at approximately 4 p.m., while the cruise ship Carnival Conquest was approximately 40 miles off the coast of Key West, Fla., the ship spotted a raft with 13 migrant rafters on board.
In coordination with the United States Coast Guard, the 13 Cuban nationals were taken on board the Carnival Conquest and provided food, water and medical treatment. No injuries or deaths were reported. The Carnival Conquest rendezvoused with a U. S. Coast Guard cutter late last night near Key West to transfer them.
It was not immediately known what would be done with the migrants, but a U.S. Coast Guard spokesperson said undocumented, non-U.S. citizens heading toward American waters are usually repatriated to their home countries.
Carnival Conquest was sailing on a seven day Eastern Caribbean itinerary and had departed from from New Orleans, LA the previous Sunday.

Let's be honest, we all know what's going to happen. What we don't know is what's going to happen to them after they get sent back to Cuba.

No; this happens all the time. They are taken into INS custody, placed out at Krome Detention Center and then returned to Cuba. It's all part of the wet foot/dry foot policy.
A related issued is now rearing its ugly head here in Miami: migrants from various Latin American countries arriving on our shores with false paperwork claiming them to be Cubans, so that they are protected and can stay.

My thoughts exactly.
