The ship, which is now on charter to ' Cruise & Maritime Voyages ' should have docked at the UK port of Avonmouth on the 26th February 2013 but due to delays and tidal conditions is now going to the UK port of Portland where she will arrive on Thursday 28th February.

Passengers will be taken by coach to join the ship which is expected to return to Avonmouth at the end of her 15 night Norwegian cruise.'

Several times during her voyage back to the UK the AIS ship position maps were showing her as only cruising at about 13.5 knots !

Had you been following the voyage of the ' mv Discovery ' from Genoa to the UK as I had on my Facebook site ' Neils Cruisingchat ' you would have known that it was only on a few days like the 25th & 26th February that she had got up above 16 knots.

Port destination was changed later on tonight, after the original announcement, due to problems with getting stores etc arranged and also the coaches getting in to Portland.

Seems like a right mess up to me.

Passengers are being coached in from Avonmouth to join her as the ship is scheduled to return to Avonmouth at the end of the cruise.

Certainly not a good start for the new operators of the ' mv Discovery '.

Not sure where you are getting the ships speed from but she has been down to 13.8 knots since leaving Genoa and was also down to 14.2 knots last night !

In addition to picking up stores, after arriving back in the UK, it is possible that some of the crew were also to join the ship when she docked.

Lets hope the passengers who joined the ship last night, after their 110 mile coach journey from Avonmouth, did not finish up with a self service buffet dinner !

I just provide all the details on my own site when following a ships voyage, not part of them !

Cabins were reported as being filfthy, and there was also fresh water problems in the cabins , aircondition problems, dirtytoilets and dirty linen.

Some of the outside decks were unuseable due to re-fitting work not being completed.

Cabin room service calls were not being answered !

It was reported that passengers were today being taken on a coach trip to near by Weymouth.

This sort of comment leads one to wonder if the linen had been on the beds since the ship arrived at Genoa !

There are also reports of no hot water and dirty plates and glasses, in the ships restaurant, which leads one to wonder what conditions are like in the ships kitchen and what precautions are being taken against norovirus !.

With fares for this cruise costing up to £5,000.00p passengers are now trying to contact the UK national newspapers about the disgusting conditions on board.

It is quite obvious that the Cruise & Maritime Voyages should have arranged a couple of short cruises for the ' mv Discovery ' before undertaking a 16 night cruise.

Any problems could then have been sorted and passengers planned holidays would not been spoilt as has now happened.

With no sign of the ship leaving port at 22.30 hrs tonight a post has now been made on their Facebook site, after they had removed the pictures and comments about the ships condition !

The 'mv Discovery ' will now not be sailing due to not being able to meet the requirements of the Maritime & Coastguard Agencies various regulations !

The ship has not arrived in port and is now shown as calling at Alesund this evening !

With this change to her schedule I would not think her passengers are going to be happy at missing what should have been a day in port and instead arrive at what was shown as the second port of call in the evening !

Makes you wonder if the 'mv Discovery ' is not up to operating her advertised schedules.
