I like the dark hull. The funnel should be another color than that of the hull, I think. Or perhaps different shades of blue in the wave logo.
Really not that bad at all. I have always been a fan of the dark hull. It helps break up the boxy-ness of the ship. Thanks for posting!

hmm, Pullmantur seems to be one of those rare companies that are actually IMPROVING their livery rather than making it worse:

Original livery:

Second livery, after the Royal Caribbean take-over:

and the latest livery is again an improvement!

Sovereign is currently in drydock in Marseille.

We will see if she receives the same livery.

I like the new livery, better than the only red name

There's more pictures of this day here: http://worldcruises1.blogspot.com.br/2012/11/empress-em-gibraltar-com-novo-esquema.html

I think that all the ships will get the same livery. Is what makes more sense...

Also heard that it could be one livery only for the brazilian season, but do not think so...

I am having second thoughts about this new livery. While a tub like the EMPRESS might benefit from this new livery, I think it won't do the SOVEREIGN much good. She has a very nice hull shape, which will be much less apparent in dark blue...

Dark coloured hulls do cover up a lot of the rust streaks you get on some of the white hulls !

She is to be sailing in the Southern Caribbean from the end of this month until the end of March for Pullmantur - here [use the drop down box to find the cruises].
Then back with CDF 14 April next year.

I was about to agree with your point till i took a pic of sovereign and place her in a dark blue hull..I must say she doesn't look bad.....my only concern will be the blue on her stack incorporated with the crown.

I like the new livery, sometimes seeing all white is boring.

I agree, Deb. The white hulls can be a bit boring. I am glad that there are more ships adopting the darker hull colors. IMO it gives an impression of size, speed, and helps alliviate the boxy look. Granted, there are a few ships out there that a dark hull might not help, ie Epic, but i think a dark hull on Sovereign might not be so bad. Looking forward to a full broadside photo.

Michael

I've always liked the looks of the Sovereign class. This livery will take me a bit of getting used to, but I do like it. I particularly like the way it highlights the curves of her bow.
