Next they will be having canoe races down mountains.
Michael
Actually if it were Sunshine there would be a cable car ... $5 a ride of course ... and if were NCL it would have an extra tariff bar and restaurant at the top of the slop
LOL

It suggests itself, however, the wake behind a cruise ship is not really ideal for doing that. Remember the attempts aboard Oasis of the Seas.

Simple answer there .... insurance. Liability outweighs any potential passenger attraction. Seen the number of releases, waivers, etc. you have to sign just to do the rock climbing or the zip line?
I am sure every time they come up with one of these "innovations" they spend more than a few minutes with the lawyers trying to convince them it really is safe and will not create more problems.
I half surprised NCL does not have legal waivers before they let you bowl. After all some drunk might hit another person or drop the ball on their foot!

Didn't the fellas from MythBusters prove you can waterski behind a cruise ship if done with the assistance of a speed boat. I know it was an older cruise ship. The OASIS of the SEAS-type ships would have a much bigger wake, but in the end it's the insurance issue that kills it.
BTW, interesting design with the slope ad the giant snowman. What sort of snow are you using there Russ?

I doubt it. The passengers would have to either go down ladders or dive into the water. Perilous

They did that behind Regal Empress but they were not the first one's: Waterkiing behind MS Deutschland
What I meant was of course not the 'water wake' but the 'air wake' behind the ship (since this was about parasailing) - if you ever tried to get a kite up airborne the wake of a ship you know what I mean.

It can even be done behind a 16 foot Hobie Cathttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTEXsZO-PVI
On the other hand, wouldn't it be cool if they attached a clear tube on the bottom of the ship that would run from the tip of the bow, down the stem, along the keel and then back up the stern? Keel-hauling at its best!
(That's a joke as well.)
Greetings Ben.
