Finaly, the next cruise ship for MSC is called MSC Preziosa.

The ship was order by Libian compagny GNMTC.

Currently, MSC hasn't yet bougth the ship but the last pictures take yesterday show the name already painted on the hull and the MSC's funel.

Actually not too bad by today's ship standards. The bridge, however, looks like an after thought. Oh look, we forgot the bridge; we can attach one here!

Once completed the bridge looks a little more integrated.

Yes Thad, you are right. It does look much more integrated in your last picture.....happily so! Other than the stern, I do like the looks of this ship.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but how is this ship a sister to others in the MSC fleet if it was ordered by another line that failed to pay it off? Does MSC use stock designs from the ship yard or did they sell their design to the other line?

This ship was ordered by the Libyans as a derivative of the MSC Fantasia-class. I believe the intention of the Libyans was always to charter the ship to MSC. Now that MSC is taking over the vessel, they are modifiying especially the interior design to bring it more into line with the Fantasia sisters. Therefore, delivery of the MSC PREZIOSA will be delayed till Spring 2013.

MSC Preziosa was float out yerterday at Saint-Nazaire.

The design is owned by STX and not MSC.

MSC and STX are in negociation for the firm order of MSC Preziosa and for the construction of two new design project called Vista (leng 300 m, wide 48 m, 4000 passengers) due to delivery in 2015 and 2016.
