LYUBOV ORLOVA has been sold at auction in St John's for a mere $275,000 to "Caribbean buyers". Scrap? Not even enough to pay the outstanding crew wages

May be (her sister)Clipper Adventurer's operators?
She might be a good companion or provide spares as did the Chandris ships!
Pity if she has to go!
Anyone who experienced the "Clipper Adventurer" will wish more to sail the seas!

Moving on to another of the sisters, MARI[Y]A YERMOLOVA, quite by chance today I came some photos of her tow through to the Caspian Sea back in 2006. See the first 3 photos on this page. Her funnel and 'main deck' were removed.
Judging from the out of date Caspian Cruise Line website, it does not appear that this enterprise ever got off the ground. [Somewhere on CT it has been mentioned before].

Does anyone know where she is these days? or sitting rusting away?

Hi Pam,
The Mariya Yermolova is laid-up since 2010. From the serie of 8 ships only 4 in operation.

Thanks Haco. There is never much about these ships in the news.

Actually she was taken over by a local bank in 2010, laid up, and anchored outside Recodo. Sometime at the beginning off 2011 she sunk after the tide took her out to the sea.

So not so many sisters left....
