It is reported from Spain that Happy Cruises have closed down due to financial problems.

Both of their cruise ships, Gemini and Ocean Pearl, are chartered and not owned by them.

Gemini is in Lisbon today and due at Malaga on Sunday, 25th September 2011.

Ocean Pearl is at sea today and due to arrive at Valencia on Sunday 25th September 2011.

There has been recent reports of poor service on these two ships.

This year they also chartered the Happy Dolphin which is at sea today and due to arrive in Venice on Sunday.

Two victims of the collapse of Happy Cruises are currently laid up in Gibraltar, awaiting new employment. OCEAN PEARL (ex Song of Norway, Sundream, Dream Princess, Dream, Clipper Pearl, Clipper Pacific, Festival) and GEMINI (ex Crown Jewel, Superstar Gemini) have had their Happy livery removed and their crews have been repatriated.
