Anyway while docked in Skagway I really enjoyed seeing a reminder of the cruise industry that once was. On the cliffs that were adjacent to the pier were painted logos and names of various cruise lines and ships that have visited Skagway over the years. Some are quite old and have survived fairly well considering the weather in Skagway. I noticed there were no recent "tags" which means either the ships today just can't be bothered, or it's considered too dangerous. Such a shame as it's really a unique reminder of the cruise industry in the early 80's into the late 90's. Such a variety of ships, being old and new. I forgot how good we had it back then. You could cruise on a classic or a modern new ship, your choice!
