I suppose there is the possibility at some time in
the future for splitting the Oasis and adding a lenthening plug just as they have done so with the Freedom class of ocean liner cruise ships.

You mean like what they did with Enchantment of the Seas? Freedom was never cut and stretched. If you meant that the Freedom class is a stretched version to the Voyager class I could understand that.

I'd shorten the length, slice out a few decks to decrease the heighth, and take a piece out of the middle to make her narrower, then maybe I'd think about sailing aboard her, heck then I might even care enough to check out her deck plans and itineraries!!!!

Enchantment was a fantastic ship post-stretch. I am not sure what she was like before. The refit was very well done in that those who had not read about her lengthening wouldn't have known it occurred. The only hints were the 'kink' in the railing and then the line where the new piece was welded to the old... very subtle.

Nordic Prince and Song of Norway were also stretched. Big difference between those ships and the Sun Viking which remained in her original design.

Stretching is done to usually modernize older tonnage. N.Majesty was to add restaurants. Enchantment was to add sports pools and lounges. Oasis would, one would logically guess, never need to be modernized unless something really weird happens in the cruise industry in the next 10-20 years.

Another maybe more important reason to stretch a ship is of course to increase the capacity - and that could very well apply to Oasis of the Seas - be it to her or to other longer yet to be built ships of the same series.
