The first interior pics of DISNEY DREAM have finally been released. Have a look!

Also, DISNEY WONDER recently completed a major refurbishment, probably the most extensive since the ship was built. A brand new observation lounge, called the Outlook Cafe was added above the Cove Cafe. They are connected by a new spiral staircase. Both are adults only areas and surround the adults only pool. In addition flat panel TV's were installed in all the cabins along with new carpets, drapes, etc. in all the public areas. Lots of technical work was done as well.

I'm sailing on DISNEY WONDER next week, and I'll be sure to write a full review on what is my very first Disney cruise!

Very nice additions I must say, they do not look like were botched on, they actually look well integrated and belong to the ship.

Pity the two news ships appear to be getting the bug eyed look with enclosed bridge wings when the first two ships had open bridge wings in keeping with Disneys desire to give both ships a classic ocean liner appearance. With the first ships full credit to Disney for building 2 of the best looking vessels of the modern era and even with enclosed bridge wings I'm sure the new ships will likewsie compare very well with the ships coming out at the moment for other companies on the appearance front.

The enhancements looks good viewed from the deck but I wonder what it did to her nicely balanced profile? I have a feeling it did'nt help based on the size of it next to the dummy funnel.

Personally I have always wished the funnels were higher. They are too short IMO.

I have seen several pictures of DISNEY WONDER with the addition, and honestly I would not have noticed it unless I already knew about it and was looking for it. It's pretty subtle.

I have to give it to Disney, they really factor in aesthetics more than most cruise lines. I'm sure they could have easily stuffed a few more cabins into DISNEY WONDER somewhere during this drydock, but they didn't. So many cruise lines ruin the original design and aesthetics of their ships in the name of increased revenue.

I agree. They would have looked far better had they been installed on a higher deckhouse base-similar to ss France's sleek deckhouses. As for the alterations (as seen from the deck) they were done beautifully-typical of Disney and blend w/the ship's lovely design. Now we just have to wait and see what it did to the profile.

The addition onboard the DISNEY WONDER looks nice.

Looks like today at 4:15pm Eastern time, Disney will be making an announcement regarding DISNEY DREAM

Here is my recap of the news announced today

-“AquaDuck” (clever name!) Water Coaster that spans the top decks around the funnels.

--Basically its a high speed flume-type ride.

--765 ft. long; 4 decks high. 13 ft.; over the side of ship at parts

-A lounge where you can watch sunsets behind different famous cities

-All inside staterooms feature a virtual porthole w/ real-time view out.

-“A Magical Oasis for Children” (Oh I see that. They put Oasis in there. Nice one again.)

--All kids areas will be expanded and have added features.

--Teen and tween areas.

---Private decks, pools and sun bathing areas

---Technology area for making movies and photo postcards

---Teen areas will be by swipe-card so NO PARENTS!

- Rotational Dinning makes a comeback

--For those unaware, you keep you same dinning mates and serving staff but change venues. (One of my favorite ideas in cruising)

---Restaurants are:

---Animators Palate, a Disney classic with changing color walls

---Royal Palace

---Enchanted Garden

-Adults Areas

--The district (seem like a ripoff of RCI’s Neighborhoods)

---Nighttime entertainment areas with bars and lounged.

----5 Themes

--Spa and Salon (No innovations there. Has there ever been!)

--Palo. Another Disney Signature restaurant. Adults only.

-Itinerary is typical 3&4-Night Bahamas routes.

-During the summer it will sail 4&5 Night Bahamas. The 5-Nighters will feature two stops at Castaway Cay.

Anyone else disappointed in the dinning rooms? I love the rotating dinning rooms when we were on our cruise (4 nights as that was the longest back then). Now they have 7 night cruises as a normal route and some special routes that go longer. On our 4 night cruise I did not like repeating the one venue to much. I had hoped that with these new ships coming out after the switch to longer cruises they would expand to 7 restaurants but instead they still only have 3. That means two restaurants twice and one three times. Seems like a weird decision to me.

Think of it this way, on most ships you eat in the same dining room every night. On Disney you get three. Sounds pretty good to me. So what if you have to repeat a couple nights. At least it's always a different menu.
