Aren't we about five weeks away from her US arrival? Any news or updates on her completion and handover? Her exact date of arrival in Ft. Lauderdale?

The countdown clock on the website says 26 days 6hrs and 17 min (at the time) til her arrival in FL.

Nov. 11th it is then. Haven't been following her webpage much, sorry. So we are that close to her delivery acceptance by Royal Caribbean? What's the average crossing time between Finland and Ft. Lauderdale? When do we expect her to depart the shipyard for the last time?

Just a rough guesstimate since it's approximately 4400nm from Turku to Ft. Lauderdale, and assuming OASIS will make approximately 15-18 knots in transit, it should take her 10-12 days? If she is indeed arriving in Florida on Nov. 11th that would have her leaving Turku approximately 2 weeks from this weekend. Is she really that close to completion?

11/30 - Christening during Make A Wish foundation sailing

Attached is a link to a Forbes article and video. The video actually shows some renderings of OASIS I have not seen before.

Right in the beginning of the article it states OASIS will rival any world class Vegas resort. This is what I have been saying all long. They don't compare OASIS to other cruise ships, they compare her to a major resort.

I also like when Adam Goldstein states (in the video) that the culture of Royal Caribbean is to design and build from scratch new vessel about every 10 years. Pretty cool.

If OASIS is going to be in port on 11/14 that will be the first big grouping with her present in Ft Lauderdale with 6 others present:

Crown Princess
Ruby Princess

Oasis of the Seas
Costa Atlantica
Seaborn Odyssey
Eurodam
Enchanment of the Seas

Should be an interesting sight to compare all the different sizes and classes.

Guess I should have been more specific. As a paying passenger on the 'completed' vessel (Central Park trees and foliage included) after it arrives in the US. Without scaffolding and with a majority of the hard hat wearing shipyard works no longer onboard. Who will be the first with luggage and pay bills and see the shows and experience the ship with 5400 other paying guests. Real embarkation and disembarkation. Thats what I meant.

No one on the Maiden Voyage? I have several TA friends in FL and NC going on the 2-nt pre-inaugurals. I though AltCruiser was going in January sometime also?

Looks like RCI has canceled one show "Come Fly With Me" through the 12/01 sailing. They had to go back and correct some issues in the theater and it has thrown the performers behind.

What room is this with the poles in the sightlines? And the funneling or channeling of people around the two skylights in Central Park looks like it might be an issue?

More than any other cruise ship, she is a floating resort hotel. Why bother getting off this fantatsic vessel when docked at some stale Caribbean island?

My feeling exactly. I don't think I will be getting off the entire cruise. The only reason I may step off in St. Maarten and St. Thomas is to get some great photos of the ship, hopefully alongside some other ships so you can see the size difference.

I'm hoping OASIS will dock at Havensight in St. Thomas but unfortunately the dredging may not be finished in time (OASIS has a 30 ft draft), so she will likely dock at Crown Bay.

What is a good site these days that shows all the ships docking in a particular port. The one I have used in the past doesn't have OASIS, so I think it's not being updated.

CruiseCal, but it requires a $3 a month PayPal deducted membership fee. I balked when CruiseCal went from free-to-subscription, but relented after suffering from withdrawal symptoms after a few months. It is a pretty reliable source although doesnt have some of the smaller foreign lines. The OASIS schedule is iffy and starts only around Dec. 5th. I emailed them an update based on various input from members here.
