Wow, those are incredible pictures. Thanks for posting. Was this your first sailing on the Oasis or were you a part of the first sea trial as well? How did the ship feel, is she really as steady as they keep saying?

From the pix I would not like to have an inside balcony--no privacy! I would also think it might be noisy from activities below.
The rest of the ship looks glitzy.

The second to the last photo looks like the Aqua Theatre suite and the last photo looks like an Owners suite.

She is not the most attractive ship I have ever seen, but she is not bad for a mega-ship carrying 5400 passengers. RCI could have done much worse and just created a giant box. I think what throws off the aesthetics is the hull is so small compared to the massive superstructure containing all the balconies. As I pointed out a long time ago, having the hull a different color may only pronounce this disproportion.

I just got back from Vegas a couple days ago and stayed at Encore at the Wynn. What a fantastic property. The assortment of restaurant and entertainment options was astonishing. I can certainly see where RCI is getting some of the ideas from for OASIS, not to mention I'm certain OASIS will compete more with Vegas and Orlando then other cruise lines. While in Vegas I saw Le Reve, which is a Cirque type show but on, above, and under the water. It was amazing and I think the Aqua Theater show on OASIS will be similar but on a smaller scale.

Today I finalized all my dining and entertainment options for OASIS in January. I actually enjoy doing this all in advance so everything will be coded into my cruise card and there will be very little planning to do once onboard. There are actually 24 different dining options on OASIS, of which 15 are complimentary. Pretty amazing. I pre-booked Giovanni's Table, the Solarium Bistro, and 150 Central Park. I didn't go for Chops since I have experienced that on other RCI ships. I tried to stick with what was new.

I also pre-signed all my activities waivers so they will be coded into my cruise card as well. This is for the Flow Rider, Ice Skating, Rock Climbing, and the Zip Line. I want to do all four.

For the evening entertainment, I was able to pre-book:
- Comedy Live Show
- Come Fly With Me (main showlounge)
- Headliner Showtime (don't know who the headliner will be)
- Frozen in Time (ice skating show)
- Oasis of Dreams (Aquatheater)
- Hairspray (main showlounge)

These were all free I might add. I would pay a lot of money to see similar type shows in Vegas. Le Reve was a minimum of $100 per ticket and don't even get me started on all the restaurant prices! I dined pretty well in Vegas but it wasn't cheap. I think my favorite was Olives at Todd English. The tuna tartar was to die for!

So anyway I'm all set and excited for OASIS. It was actually fun to coordinate the ports with the dining reservations with the shows.

Next up though is DISNEY WONDER in just under a month. Looking forward to that too!

Ernie

Have you noticed, in this picture in the large ceiling area above the Boardwalk there is some kind of track installed? I'm guessing there will either be a hanging acrobatics show or it's some kind of lighting effect.

You can also see the control booths for the Aqua Theater above both rock climbing walls.

Above the ceiling track is a very large interior space with large openings looking down. Others have mentioned it's for lighting but it seems like such a large space just to be lighting. To my knowledge there is no public space inside that bridge, just equipment for the Flowriders above and who knows what else. It would have made an amazing lounge.

When I saw these pics a day or so ago I actually was wondering what is exactly housed in that "bridge" over the aquatheater area. It never struck me before but maybe this is the last "secret". It really would make a cool lounge or a GREAT suite ala Atlantis in the Bahamas.

Ernie I was also wondering about the tracks up there. I noticed them a few days ago. I figured that they might be for cleaning the underside of the "bridge" or something like that. I wonder?

Maybe there is a crew lounge in there? Theres some kind of walk way on the other side of it (facing towards the funnel). Also there must be so exsaust pipes inside since it has that funnel on top.

It would be an awesome lounge!

Yes thats correct. In this bridge over Aqua theater is no eny public or crew spaces, there is technical spaces, ac, flowryder equip. etc.

In fact there is going to be another public area for pax, on dec 17 fore ship arond radar mast. It supoused to be a crew area, but there is makeover in progress right now.

I noticed in the second photo, looking down onto Boardwalk, on the right above all the balconies, there is somewhat of a ramp...is that perhaps where the ripcord will receive it's riders / sliders?

You are correct. That platform is the end of the Zip Line. You can see the starting point at the very top, left of center in the photograph.

A few photos from the seatrials:

I was very worried about the baby-blue hull, but in most of the photos I've seen the color is so subtle you never even notice it. Almost makes me wonder why they even bothered.

Overall, she's a well proportioned ship. Considering her size, the design could have been a disaster...a real monster. Still, I have a few complaints...the biggest is probably the decision to use clear, un-tinted glass for the balcony railings and upper decks. I think she would have looked much better and sleeker with darker glass (perhaps green) like other RCI ships. As she is, the doors and dividers are so prominent that she appears like she's covered in scaffolding.

And as other have noted, the lack of a promenade deck and large glass exterior views is a shame...that's what I've loved about RCI's ships.

Absolutely amazing stuff.

Looking at this it is really amazing to me that we used to think the SOVEREIGN-class ships were big.

I think she is a really good looking ship ((except from directly behind)) considering her design and size but I have to agree with you about the glass. It seems like colored glass my look better. Then again maybe it would make her look more bulky up top.

I also like the blue.

One assumes the "Pets at Sea" on the boardwalk is not a pet shop ?

Second, is the deck above the loft apartments being used for anything - open deck space ? Just it appears in some pics that the aft part of it has railings around it.

Then lastly the area around the mast that was previously to be a crew area, what is it now to be used for ?

Thanks

Hmmm she's big and looks big. I still wonder what happen if she's in bad weather........ Central Park is then almost or not usable anymore. In passenger point of view.

I have taken many, many cruises to the Caribbean where these two ships will be based and I can count on one hand the number of times that we encountered bad weather. Short periods of rain will happen but they are over in a blink of the eye. Also, part of Central Park and Boardwalk are covered. I don't see an issue at all.

Still think that she looks great for her size. Not a box like some of the other cruise lines turn out.

I wonder if aerodynamics would create a stream of air over the park and keeping out light rains.
