I have received a preview copy of Saga Cruises' 2010 brochure, from which I have scanned the deck plans of Saga Pearl II and also the cruise calendar for both Saga Pearl II and Saga Ruby for next year.

The former Astor is no beauty like Saga Rose, but she's a nice looking ship.

She appears to have very few public rooms and the few seem to be large. Is there a small, cozy bar or so?Will there be a library, a card room, or writing room?

There will be a large library on Promenade Deck which will also be home to Shackleton's bar, the dining room, and the Discovery Lounge. Two decks higher is the Sundowner Bar, which the brochure describes as intimate and "the perfect spot to relax with friends.

The Briefing Room, between the library and the Discovery Lounge, would be ideal as a card room, and I would be surprised if there are not writing facilities in the library.

That's all good news, Greybeard! Otherwise would seem wrong for the demographics. Still, it will be interesting to see how the Rose and Ruby regulars take to her. I wish her well.
