Celebrity have now said that they are making some design changes to the 4th and 5th of the class, they will be an "progressive evolution" of the first 3 ships.

I betting the The Lawn will change and maybe some of the extra tarriff restaurants ?

I hope they change the area outside the theatre and do NOT have entertainment there especially right after a show lets out. This was a bottleneck and people had difficulty getting thru this area. I did comment on this in my report on Solstice.
I hope we will hear soon on what they did change.

But it really makes sense, once you have 3 in service number 4 & 5 just become a yawn and are unlikely to attract a premium, by making changes and hopefullly to something that is unique and perceived to be worthwhile they become a must cruise experience.

Thanks Mike - interesting reading.

The ‘Solstice’ class remind me a bit of RCI’s ‘Radiance’ class (one of my favourite classes of ship) in terms of internal layout. RCI are obviously now concentrating on resort-ships for their own brand.

Having just spent two days on Celebrity Equinox in the company of Richard Fain and Dan Hanrahan, I would say that Mike SA's predictions are very very wide of the mark. Evolution of the design maybe. Death of the lawn? . . . I very much doubt it.

Radiance class are also one of my favourites, done the Brilliance twice and hope to do her again from Dubai later this year.

As far as external appearance, I only hope they change the funnel design on 4 and 5...something that displays the "X" more favorably.

I personally think they should have just one funnel though I am sure that would change the ship's GA. I know though that there was a rendering circling the internet which shows this ship with just one funnel. I always search for it. Does anyone know where I could find it?

The 4th and 5th Voyager class ships featured the addition of external glass balconies, an extended windjammer, and the removal of the roller blading. With those in mind the balconies were already on Radiance class ships, their were requests for a second pay restaurant in the windjammer, and the roller blading was unpopular. So right now it sounds like people the theater entrance expanded, the funnel design is unpopular, and I'm guessing some new innovation from the Oasis may be transfered over.

Maybe they are going to apply what they learn from Oasis's Central Park to expand the Lawn with some flowers and trees as well.
