Page & Moy Cruises have published a 2009 brochure for the OCEAN MAJESTY (which they have chartered for the past eleven years) and which is being billed as "her farewell season".

Another one possibly biting the dust?

Thanks for posting this-it made me check it out on Simplon (as I am really bad at keeping track of what these older ships once were).

I can say that this is a ship about which I know absoutley nothing - what a delightfullooking little ship on the outside - looks like the kind I would love.

I don't expect OCEAN MAJESTY to be retired just yet, she was completely rebuilt from the hull up around 1994. Maybe Page & Moy are getting a different ship? Let the speculation begin!

you are right Rd77 I think she was totally rebuilt in 1994. And it would seem kinda funny to scrap a ship with still much useful life in her, and I believe she complies with SOLAS does she not?

She'd be perfect for Louis Hellenic or Monarch Classic in the three and four night Greek Islands trade, which she once did for Epirotiki as HOMERIC. I think she's got a few good years left, short of some mechanical issue.

Peter

Couldn't agree more! A perfect size to meander around the Greek Islands!

OCEAN MAJESTY is also owned by Lou Kollakis who also owns OCEAN COUNTESS and (until recently) OCEAN MONARCH. He is also involved with Monarch Classic, so this is possibly where she is heading at the end of the year.

I'm interested to know whether Page & Moy are leaving the cruise business or whether they will charter another newer vessel.

Tony
