How delayed is this ship? I think she was originally supposed to go into service this past summer. I have heard also that Pearl Seas has cancelled the second ship order from the Canadian yard. Is there anymore information available about her? I saw this image on ship spotting. She looks pretty nice.

PEARL MIST was originally earmarked for delivery last May and her delay resulted in the cancellation of an inaugural programme around Canada’s Atlantic seaboard and up the St. Lawrence River and a winter season in the Caribbean. She is now scheduled to start operations on 21 March. The shipyard has attributed the delay to Pearl’s decision to increase the size of the vessel, raising its capacity from 166 to 214. Pearl has yet to announce which shipyard will now construct the second ship.

Wow are they still paying for the ship? Because ACL is not doing well at all. They canceled so many trips. Their ships are of shotty construction. When I worked on the American Eagle 4 years ago she was only 5 at the time and there were more deck rot on the boat then anything and the American Spirit in the same year was brand new and she had rotten plates already not to mention the crew is treated like slaves. If it was not for the Capt and Mates I would not have stayed. 7 ships in 9 years for a company that when bankrupt doing the same same thing 20 years ago. Think they would learn their lesson.

The one good thing the pearl mist has going for it is that it was not built by Cheasapeke shipbuilding.

I interviewed the President of the Great Lakes Cruise Company and he spoke about the Pearl Mist. Looks like it's going to be a nice little mini-cruise ship.

I have nothing bad to say about the Mist. She is a neat ship. But her owner that is another story. How can a company that came back onto the stage just 9 years ago have enough money to build one ship after another and be able to to afford advertising dollars. Something must be up. Well the price they charge and the product they give can not compare. You get ok food no offense DUBE Holiday inn style cabins with the furnature falling apart. Lets look into their fleet.

1: American Eagle (2000) the best looking of all the Shoe Boxes 165' Long 49Pax

2: American Glory (2003) 168' long 49 Pax

3: American Glory Class II (200?) 168' Long 49 Pax she was started then scrapped.

4: American Spirit (2005) 198' Long 100 Pax

5: American Star (2007) 198' Long 100 Pax

6: Pearl Mist (2008,2009?)

7: Independence II: 220' long if we can belive that they say the Spirit is over 200' and it is not. 2nd ship in company history to be named the Indy the original is the Spirit of Discovery for cruise west. She is also one of the best looking acl boat for sometime I think since the American Eagle.
