That island ship could be built at sea. If they build sections that float (like when a hip is built in two halves and connected in another place) they could then take them out to sea and attach them together. Then they could go through the inside and half the corridors with water tight doors that just open to connect the pieces internally. It's kind of like how the International Space Station is built.

Actually the term is "Hydrodynamic".
The Captain of the Liberty of the Seas mentioned the floating islands that carry 60,000 guests as a possibility one day.
The problem will be when she reaches the end of her service life and SOME start screaming for her to be saved, turned into a hotel or whatever - which unfortunate city is going to be landed with her rusting in the middle of their harbour or newly dugout out lake....................
