WOW, really stunning photos!! Thanks for posting them. She even has her dress flags flying. She looks like she is ready for her first cruise.

QE2 comes first in just under two weeks, but I can't wait for SOLSTICE on December 7th!

She is a much more beautiful ship than in the concept sketches. I'm disappointed in the giant "X" though. It can be seen if you look for it but it does not stand out. I wish they would have made it more obvious or stuck with the standard "X" on the funnels.

I agree about the X. They should have used the same treatment on the balconies they did on the Freedom Class ships. It would stand out much more.

I will admit, I have seen uglier ships....but those funnels are definitely among the worst!

I hated her funnels at first. But I have to admit that they are starting to grow on me (except from behind, thats Solstice's worst angle).

I guess I don't mind the funnels the way they are...seems like they should be taller. My one beef with the Solstice is the massive overhanging deck areas which make the ship look somwhat out of proportion from certain angles. The bow plating seems slapped together and is not as smooth as it probably could be. As you look along the hull near the waterline...maybe it's the way the sun light hits it but, again the hull plating seems off in some spots. I can't wait, however, to board the ship in Ft Lauderdale on November 12th!!!

Interesting how the mast matches the funnels in shape, size, and design. I like the ship overall. She's different than many of the unoriginal designs we're seeing in the industry today. However, I do wish she carried more Celebrity DNA. I don't see enough to link her to the three previous classes in the line's fleet.

I was reading Summit's inaugural book the other day and had to do a double take to an early external rendering - I thought it was Solstice. To me there is a lot of similarity.

Agree that the X should be bolder though.

Matt - looking forward to sailing on her in a few weeks time (fingers crossed)

Speaking from experience... That sure is a nice looking rear end.

She is definitely in my future cruise plans.

Unfortunately, the more I look at this ship, the less I like it. I really dislike the funnels and mast. The bow reminds me of the Regal Empress and I never liked hers either. She still looks to be a work in progress to me, and I think what we see is how she will look. Other than the Century class and the Meridian, I have never liked Celebrity's designs. Most others do and that's fine.

Here is a youtube video of someone walking around the dining room and atrium of SOLSTICE. You can't tell a lot, but I really think this ship is going to be stunning.

Thanks for posting. I agree with your assessment of Solstice; she looks to be a stunner. Even in their current state of finishing out her interiors are very impressive.
