Steve Read has put this as the second news bulletin on his site, is it going with the emerald or some kind of mistake?

I hadn't heard this before, but I guess Steve will tell us if it is true or not.

It wouldn't surprise me as she is really the "odd ship out" in the fleet, especially once THE EMERALD goes. She is much smaller than and lacks the amenities of SPIRIT, CELEBRATION and DESTINY.

In general, Thomson doesn't really appeal to me but I think I would not mind a cruise in SPIRIT of CELEBRATION. I always thought they looked like rather nice ships and most people I know who have been on them have been very favorably impressed by the quality.

Steve is probably at 30,000 feet in his Lear jet travelling between cruise line press parties at present.

As soon as he's on-line i'm sure that he will let us know.

Steve has just been to Alaska on Oosterdam.

And he's been to parts of the ship that most people would never wish to visit.

Maybe Louis cruises will replace The Calypso and The Emerald by the Norwegian Dream and Norwegian Majesty? I heard that they have bought the ships... could be replacement ships for the older units??

You can still book Calypso on the Thomson web site for summer 2009, although that is not proof positive that they will retain her.

I would expect Louis to move Calypso to Limassol to replace Ivory (ex. Ausonia) for which it has allready been announced that will be leaving the fleet after this season.
