With ships heading for another busy season in the Med, Gibraltar Port is playing host to vessels of all shapes and sizes, with 20 cruise ships due this week alone. Today GRAND PRINCESS, SEA CLOUD, PRINCESS DANAE and ALBATROS are in port, with VENTURA, THOMSON CELEBRATION, FUNCHAL and CORINTHIAN II tomorrow.

Pics have been placed in the Photo Gallery of the Gibraltar Port website at www.gibraltarport.com

Lovely, but where's Sea Cloud ? Albatros & Princess Danae could have done without that back drop. So tomorrow will be more or less the same view with Thomson Celebration & Funchal having Ventura behind them. What is is to live somewhere with all these ships on your doorstep!

Hi Pam

SEA CLOUD was docked at "Coaling Island", a small berth nearer the town centre and away from the Cruise Terminal, where she stayed for two days.

This afternoon, FUNCHAL arrived as VENTURA sailed and took her berth. An interesting shot of the two passing, along with a number of others, has been placed on the Gib Port website.

This overdose of cruise ship photography is beginning to take its toll!! The twitch has set in!!

All the best

Tony

Hi Tony

Some great pictures again of the cruise ships docked at Gibraltar. - Many Thanks.

One interesting picture today was a close up of the yellow or gold coloured grill on the funnel of the new P & O Cruises ship Ventura.

It looks really out of place and in some ways the funnel would look better without this small size grill propped against its side.

However, VENTURA's ill-fitting G-String certainly brought a Smile to THOMSON CELEBRATION.

The photo of FUNCHAL with VENTURA is amazing; one could not have asked for the cloud formation to co-operate any better, wonderful. No twitching please Tony, birds are for 'anoraks'

I see there are some more anyway. Is it possible to walk across that 'scaffolding' between LE DIAMANT's funnels? [I mean for crew, or even Barryboat's, not passengers].

The Gib port site is always excellent.
Pam, I am sure it is possible to walk across betweent the funnels of Le Diamant. If nothing else, access would be needed for the ship's aft masthead light which is positioned there, to change the bulbs from time to time.
