I am waiting at Miami Airport for my flight to London after several days here which included a two-day jaunt to Nassau from Port Everglades aboard the excellent and splendid REGAL EMPRESS.

Other more erudite writers have previously waxed lyrical about this ship so I will not go into any detail, but suffice it to say that if you have not yet sailed aboard this veteran, I urge you to make a point of doing so before it's too late!

I will (hopefully) drift into slumberland across the Atlantic in the next few hours thinking of the glorious amount of wood panelling, wonderful glass etchings and other aspects of this very special ship.

I took a week cruise on this ship back when she belonged to Commodore under the name of Caribe. Nice ship but once was enough for me.

I wonder what ship they will use to replace the Regal Empress. Her days have to be numbered.

I recieved an email from Imperial Majesty cruises, they are promoting, if you book with them on a certain date you can sail for free for life (twice a year) and then the fine print says "as long as Regal Empress remains in their fleet. Makes me wounder if the ships days with them are numbered.

I was told by several people I spoke to that although Imperial want to retain REGAL EMPRESS up to the bitter end, they are already looking for a replacement ship with about the same capacity, even if they have to run the two in tandem for a while, as bookings are extremely healthy. Any thoughts?

Tony - Imperial Majesty was rumored to be interested in FINNJET, but that obviously didn't happen.

I think DREAM would have been a very obvious choice, but of course she was snatched up by Clipper.

LONG JIE might work but some of her suites would have to be converted back to smaller cabins.

It would be interesting to see Imperial expand to new destinations but keep their cruises short. they seem like they offer a good product.

Two-night cruises are part of the reason for Imperial Majesty's success, dovetailed onto land packages in Florida. About the only places you can get to from SoFlo, overnight, and return, are Nassau and Freeport. Both SeaEscape and Discovery already cover the Freeport market, so that leaves Nassau. There simply are no other destinations within the parameters of their operations.

I wonder if Norweigan Majesty is a ship they are looking at? When i was on the Majesty in Dec. we were told an interested party was onboard looking at the ship.

Hi Geno-er

The "interested party" could well have been Louis Cruise Line who have also inspected "Norwegian Dream" recently.
