I have been talking to a person at Cunard about booking, however I can't book just yet. Its looking like it will happen though.

Will anyone else be on the Oct 4th or 10th crossings on the QM2?
My cruise plans are REGAL EMPRESS sometime in 2008, and aside from that, nothing hard and fast. Whatever comes around, really, as it depends on what I am asked to write about. (Or what I can persuade someone to pay me to write about.)

Perhaps because prices are much more favorable on the QM2 on that sailing?
I wanted to but at this point its wait list only. I might put my name on the list but I don't know if its worth the $500 down payment. Cunard told me I would be number 144 on the list a few weeks ago, by this time I imagine in would be a even higher number. I still would like to though.

In October you can expect the temperatures to be rather cool, but they can be very cool even in the summer. I have done Autumn crossings with very calm seas, and I have also had rough seas and foul weather at that time.
But you don't do a transatlantic for the weather--if you want warm, calm seas, go on a Caribbean cruise. I think your reasons are for both the ship, and for the traditional crossing experience--so go ahead and make a booking! We all have "Wish Lists" of trips we want to do, but you really cannot say you're "planning" a trip until you actively do something about it. Take the plunge!

Thanks. One of the reasons I want to do this is I am hoping for rougher weather. I have always wanted to do a transatlantic crossing with at least some bad weather. And like you said
I definately want to do this, and have been talking a a booking agent at Cunard. I just need to succure the funding.

In this way you sort of have it 2 ways. Easy access to the various venues and diminshed the effect of rough seas if encountered. For what it's worth.Frosty4
Thanks for the advice. Thats what I wanted. A mid ship cabin, probably a hull hole room. I don't want one where the ride would be really rough as I don't know yet how good my sea legs are. At this point though I want to go so bad I would sleep in a broom closet.
So is anyone else going?
