For those of you interested, I have uploaded a 10-photo preview of Cunard's new Queen Victoria at ShipParade. I must say I found the ship to be very elegant and despite the obvious similarities to HAL's Vista class ships Cunard have managed to give Queen Victoria a distinct old-world atmosphere. She is more "cruise ship" than "ocean liner", but I did like Queen Vic very much nevertheless.

Thank you, Bart - great pictures as usual. I get a feeling that the view is emerging that although she is a half-sister to many other ships around the world, the details of her design and finish have resulted in giving her individuality.

Going back to the photography stuff, can you give me some hints & tips? What equipment do you use, and (assuming that it's digital) what settings do you use for things such as white balance, etc?

I came back from Braemar in September feeling pleased with my own efforts, then I saw your pictures in ShipParade and was suitably humbled....

Thanks for the nice pictures.
Hemispheres and the Grill Terrace seem to be quite nice.

Looking at all these pictures I still don't get that this plastic flooring is all-over on the ship.

P.S.: Presently five (!) QV related vs. two non QV related threads at CT.

Wonderful pics as usual! Thanks for sharing.

After seeing Bart's amazing interior shots, I agree w/Ernst about the exterior decking. I cannot understand the extensive use of plastic (or whatever it is made of) decking installed on a up-market ship like this. Even the mass-market Carnival ships have beautiful teak decking.

Well the wood is on some floors of the interior but the bolideck is all over the exterior. Why spend so much money on the interior and clad the exterior deck surfaces with a quasi-rubberized material.

Bart I always love your photos! Superb job everytime! The QV is a handsome looking ship but I do see hints of Princess interior design (I know we have discussed this!). In any case, can't wait to sail her one day!

EXCELLENT photos Bart! As always, thanks for sharing.

I think her interiors are lovely (most of them anyway). I'm waiting to see some really good shots of the Britannia Dining Room; so far, I'm on the fence about that one.
