Wel she departed for the first semester on 5 September but nothing seems to have been mentioned on their website. Anyone seen any photos of her departing Piraeus.

The first port of call is Lisbon, but not sure when she is due in. Celebrity's Press Release.

I've also been waiting to see the first pics of THE SCHOLAR SHIP, although I think I read somewhere that she will retain the name OCEANIC II - I may have got it wrong.

Anyway, her itinerary is listed at:

http://www.thescholarship.com/voyages/voyage_itinerary.aspx?id=1

I hope she will pass close by to Gib en route to Lisbon and even better call in for bunkers, but I suspect she will have fuelled in Piraeus.

Also note the second voyage ends in Amsterdam on 19 April and not Piraeus as was originally intended. As she will be going into a second Pullmantur summer charter, perhaps she will be sent up to the Baltic?

Is seems to be more difficult ... I tried to find an answer in a German speaking forum .. because:

OCEANIC II is booked for Copenhagen 16.04.2008
Link

And what is more surprising:

A ship named MONA LISA is booked there for 21.07.2008
Link

Will she come back to the German market again?!

Yes, she will. Lord Nelson Seereisen, the successor of Holiday Kreuzfahrten, will operate the ship on a series of cruises from Kiel and Bremerhaven between May 1st and August 31st, 2008.

Raoul

Raoul

Is Herbert Fervers really taking back OCEANIC II as MONA LISA? I thought she was on a three year summer charter to Pullmantur?

Hi

Unless any of the charter arrangements have been changed she is on charter to the Scholar Ship for three years for their round the world trips and also Pullmantur Cruises for three years for their summer season.

It is possible there could be some time to spare between the present charters as she did some cruises for Louis cruises this year after they lost the Sea Diamond.

Yes, Toni. Obviously Pullmantur doesn't need her any more with two additional ships joining the fleet next year.

Neil, I have the 44-page "Mona Lisa" brochure in front of me. The ship's first cruise under Lord Nelson charter will be a 9-night Baltic cruise round-trip from Kiel May 1st-10th, and the final one will be a 7-night Norwegian Fjords cruise from Kiel to Bremerhaven August 24th-31st.

It is obvious that these sailings will be replacing the Pullmantur charter.

If you still don't believe me - your choice.

Best,

Raoul

Hi

No problem about your information.

I just wonder why it has not appeared so far on the other websites which list ships which have been chartered.

Having had the Mona Lisa picture removed from the funnel and also lost that horrible red colour will this mean that they will return ?

I hope not !

She would however look nice with her two funnels again.

"Lord Nelson", reincarnation of "Mona Lisa"; I did have to doublecheck it was quite late in the year for April.

I sincerely how that they will not do that. I could live with the color - but please omit the picture! The name is bad enough - how can someone do that to Leonardo da Vinci AND such a nice ship.

I envy you for knowing that. I hope she stays around long enough that I can find it out by myself.

BTW - has anyone (more recent) pictures of her interior? Please post a link if you know one. Thank you.

Hi Ernst

It is possble that some changes will be made to the usual layout of her public rooms etc,. while she is on charter to the Scholar Ship, as they will be in use for their lecture sessions.

There was a link to some very good pictures of her public rooms etc on the Spanish Pullmantur website but they may now have been removed as their charter of her is finished for this year.

She looked in excellent condition still.

I bet (and hope) that they won't do anything to her that can not be reversed quickly.
I have seen the pictures on the Pullmantur page and also a German TV documentary some years ago (as Mona Lisa) - it is a bit surprising that there is not more on her online available. Seems as if we have to send someone to take some pictures. (and maybe film a bit )
