Anyone else go down on Tuesday to see her rather late arrival? Oh she's lovely and I'm glad I got to see her again 5 months before Madiera. It's too late to upload any pics here now but they are on my site

She looks very interesting with the second stack, but I think they should both be painted in the same livery!

Does anyone know just what changes have been made to her since her Royal Viking days? Externally she looks little changed. What about her interior?

They need to turn that other funnel around too, Rich.

You can see how really happy I was at seeing the former Royal Viking Sea again after 19 years and the sunburn was worth it. I really like the livery on their ships. Unlike some they haven't gone overboard and I was impressed when Amadea came last year. I really can't wait to see Albatros on New Year's Eve with Black Watch so they both better turn up or else. LOL!

Salaison, now that would be excellent.

Ah - that elusive Southampton " wow factor". Will it ever happen. The disco lights on top of the civic centre has been abandoned. How about the non flying bronze Spitfire?

Who needs spitfires or murals when every day people are going, "Wow! That is really horrible!" and they're not just talking about Arcadia?

Ooooh Patsy, get them claws in!! LOL

I think it would be a talking point if Carnival would dip their hands in those deep pockets of their's and perhaps have a selection of classic ship funnels near to their new HQ they are building on West Quay Road.
The thought of seeing the classic shape of Canberra's, the QE2 etc etc...

Being the proud Sotonian I am, it frustrates me no end that if only the various Council's that line Southampton Water could work together and give the City and local area a waterfront that residents and visitors alike could remember and want to return to time and time again...

Andrew

I can be cattier than that, Andrew. I do agree though. It's a flipping dump and apart from the ships, has absolutely nothing going for it. That said if anyone slagged it off from outside I'd defend the dump fiercely. LOL! A selection of funnels would be nice but let's face it, Canberra and QE2 aren't theirs so that's highly unlikely. And we don't want a repeat of the Miami office with their own. That would definitely put the punters off. They really need to do something. It's getting beyond the joke now.
