That is weird, knowing that Carnival Corp is reluctant to sale to competitors any of their vessels and considering that Costa Classica is far from being the most outdated ship in the Costa fleet (Allegra,Marina and Europa would come first IMO) and is still quite popular with pax.
I know Cunard did this when they sold their ship to Saga.

I'm aware of this, Malcolm. But I guess it wasn't a real issue for Saga as their restricted 50 years old + niche was quite likely to be enough for Carnival. On the other hand, there's as well the case of the old Nieuw Amsterdam and Noordam sold to Louis, chartered to Thomson and now in a close competition with Carnival UK brands such as Ocean Village or P&O (Ok, P&O may not be at the same category). But anyway Costa Classica is still a quite decent ship which still fits well in Costa's fleet. And even if it wasn't the case anymore, Carnival owns plenty other brands which would be quite happy to have this vessel transfered to them. For example, I'm pretty sure our Australian cruise talkers would love to see such a ship in the P&O Australia fleet.
Back to Opera, she was smoking nicely yesterday at Tilbury. I am wondering if anyone has any idea when she is likely to be departing for Greece? I expect they are working hard on the engines to make sure she gets there with no problem at the outset.
I thought someone may have noticed her in the Blue Moon photo posted last night in this thread. Here's another pic from 31 knots taken across the Thames from Gravesend.

Now the question I have is what the price tag on the COSTA CLASSICA would be?
