From Star Cruises:

STAR CRUISES' SUPERSTAR GEMINI
TO CRUISE AUSTRALIAN WATERS THIS SUMMER

Australia's most popular cruise ship in South-East Asia, SuperStar Gemini, will cruise Australian waters this summer.

Star Cruises today announced that SuperStar Gemini will depart November 18 from her base in Singapore to cruise Australia, where she will be based for three months before returning to Singapore on February 17. Australian cruise passengers will once again experience the warm Asian hospitality for which Star Cruises is renowned. The 800-passenger ship is an established favourite in Australia, appreciated for her charm and intimacy as well as her multi award-winning freestyle cruise service.

SuperStar Gemini will offer a variety of itineraries in both duration and style with a combination of international and domestic destinations. Stopovers will include cities such as Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Cairns as well as popular tropical destinations such as the Whitsunday Islands of north Queensland and Broome in north-western Australia.

Mr. Chong Chee Tut, Chief Operating Officer of Star Cruises, believes the variety of itineraries offered should ensure all cruise passengers are catered for. “We will offer itineraries ranging from 7 nights to 26 nights circumnavigating the continent from Fremantle to Fremantle. Within this circumnavigation will be calls at exotic Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea which will also be included in the 17-night itinerary from Sydney to Fremantle. Other itineraries include 12 nights from Sydney and 8 nights from Brisbane to the Whitsundays and tropical North Queensland. There will be two exciting back-to-back 7-night Western Australian itineraries from Fremantle to Exmouth and Broome”, says Mr. Chong. “In addition, we have planned for two fascinating relocation cruises to and from Singapore to Australia taking in exotic ports of call like Bali, Komodo and Darwin”.

Star Cruises has a variety of options for passengers already booked to travel on SuperStar Gemini who are affected by this new deployment. These passengers should contact their travel agent for further information.

Bookings for the new SuperStar Gemini itineraries in Australia are open from May 21.

i think star have put together some great itinerary options for the australian season. I wouldnt be suprised if it does sell out. (there are plenty of short & long segments to chose from)

i think on average its works out from about $200 per person per day. I guess the benifit is in most cases you can chose a return trip from per/syd/bris and save $$ on airfares. At worst you pay a one way airfare to perth and cruise home to the east coast!
