I don't think this particular topic has been posted about yet, but I am making a RC queen mary 2 out of the revell kit. the thing is, I want to make it like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jjQ_8Gkaxg&mode=related&search=
Watch the full video, in the middle, the model is taken out and the engine pods are shown.
What i was wondering was how you get the motor into the four little engine pods like this person did.
each of the four engine pods works, too, and there isn't a connection cable.
thanks!

The only solution I can imagine that would keep the appearance of the model more or less intact is a pump in the hull.
You could also take one of these functional models of an outboard engines (for smaller scale models) - and use these (gears) to mimic a pod.
The other option is to build a pod based on a small eletric motor - e.g. like the motors used in servos - I use one of these on a model of mine for the radar antenna.
Both solutions would avoid a shaft but give you a rather clumsy pod.
Persoanlly, I would go for a shaft driving two of the propellers. (and e.g. use two of the pods as rudder) This is a minor compromise concerning the appearance but will make life much easier.
