Nice images! I love to see one big impressive dining room
rather smaller ones of single hight. RCI's are often breathtaking!

What's the long cream coloured corridor (last image, Album one)? A crew corridor?

Looks like a blown up Voyager class, I did NOT like the Voyager OTS. Too big !! IMHO. And with Genesis coming soon who will want to go on this monster? With over 5000+ passengers the logistics will be troubling. I would imagine that it could take up all the dock space at St. Thomas if indeed it can dock there. Tendering-- ? "Man all life boats!!!!"

That is exactly what it is, a crew service corridor. Many of the crew will call it "The M1" or maybe "I-95" depending on what part of the world you are from.

Thanks AkerBuilder. She is beautiful, like Freedom. Having sailed on FOTS I didn't notice many differences only in the artwork seen so far, some of the flooring and in Boleros.

In FOTS there was a large corridor in deck 1 that I saw when tendering, it did look like I-95 full of crew members walking fast in their direction, but it was white.

Thanks for translating Ernie, I did not know what I - 95 was, but now I do.

The M 1 was the UK's first Motorway (Freeway) and still a main route from London to the North of England.

Does the worlds biggest cruise ship also have the worlds widest crew corridor?

When taking pictures in low light conditions, white becomes yellowish, so without the flash, the image would apear to be yellow, that should explain it. I-95 is a freeway in Florida, I like to think of it as the cruise ship corridor, it connects Miami, Port Canveral, Jacksonville,,etc.

You worried about St.Thomas there is nothing space on that dock to berth 2 Genesis class vessels and a tug ...I would quicker worry about the other islands..I mean most of the islands handle vogayer Class easily and i think can handle Freedom...Genesis could be tricky. Speaking for my island of St.Lucia can't imagine Genesis Class Ship turning in that harbor...

Florida and beyond! I-95 runs up the east coast from Miami all the way to the Canadian border at Houlton, Maine, generally in parallel with US1. (Wikipedia article.) I know one particular bit of I-95 very well: NYC to New Haven.

We always bashing Carnival about there ships. But RCI is another champion to do also. well some lounges are beautiful i have seen the main street and it's time to come up with something new. The space could easy be used by more lounges little bars etc. The ship is just another one only bigger.

Greetings Ben.

Which is why myself and many, many others continue to cruise with RCI. No comparison between RCI and Carnival in ship design. Carnival as of late has built nothing but floating cattle carriers and RCI designs with the passengers comfort in mind. Also the RCI ships don't look like floating whore houses designed by Joe Farcus.

Frosty, would you like to contribute something new, which you haven’t posted on almost every thread related to any ship larger than a dingy? We know you dislike these big ships, and evidently have some grossly unrealistic hope that the entire major market line will collapse and leave you with your 30 year old market ships.

Every indication and evolution of these ships disproves your hopes that the market will reject them and that the logistics of such vessels work just fine.

Complaining about large ships is indeed strange as there are still more than enough smaller ships - also modern ones - if this is of importance. The only disadvantage of too many too large ships is that some ports might be spoiled - in some cases it happened already - the recently built and soon to be finished ships will not make that much of a difference.

It's interesting that people tend to complain about the largest ships at the time, so now it's 'Freedom' and 'Genesis'.

A few years ago in was 'Carnival Destiny' and 'Grand Princess', but it's OK because they have become medium sized and main-stream.

Maybe within the next 10 years we will be able to accept Genesis and complain about a 300,000 gt ship?

Or maybe, just maybe, we might find time for praise instead of the constant, repetitive complaints.

Given that this board is populated by people who profess to enjoy cruising, I am regularly amazed at the degree of moaning that is exhibited.

Cruise Talk - or Cruise Belly-ache ? ?

Without wishing to go all David Brent on you, can I put in a plea for contributors to "accentuate the positive."?

After all, we would all agree that even a bad day at sea is better than a good day in The Office.
