I am a TA and my lovely boss received a free 2 night TA cruise in early May. Just because one person will be out of the office the dates of the cruise she is not allowing anyone from her 2 offices to go! I mean she has a enough coverage. She does not care to cruise so this invitation goes to waste! This women is like Myrl Streeps character in Devil Wears Prada. You have to see the office before she comes in we have to put her cereal on her desk with her spoon and bowl, make sure her headset on the phone is in and make sure the message pad is sitting in the right spot on her desk. She is nuts!
I digress, so I call RCI sales and event planning you can never get through and I contacted my regional sales manager for RCI but she has been seriosly sick in the hospital so I thought maybe someone here knew of a tour they are having of the Liberty in Bayonne. Maybe I can get through to sales this week.
I have been in travel 10 years and I finally have been working for an agency that is a big outfit inmy area and I still can get a few "ship" perks. I know I sound like I am complaining but wasting a two night cruise eats me up!
"While touring the 'Norwegian Jewel' I said to the tour guide that the Garden Villa's private deck space reminded me a little bit of the SS Norway's 'Patio'."
She replied SS Norway? Patio?in this thread, and ask if she really wants a bunch of employees trying to sell cruises just as unknowledgeable as that guide. These freebies are not for staff to have a good time [though some do take it that way], but for TAs to have a real insight of the vessel they are to sell cruises on.
If she does not take up the offers, others may not be forthcoming from the cruise lines in future.
Reading other comments about the web it seems that all and sundry have been offered this trip too, not just TAs, but C&A members [who will be out just to enjoy themselves with the free bar included], and also tickets have been passed to TA's clients, so she could easily give them to anyone I imagine? Don't let them go to waste.

Secondly, don't even try talking to Event Planning. They screwed up the Freedom OTS inaugural festivities something fierce. It took a lot of last minute wrangling to get cabins straightened out. And they had our cabins screwed up for the Liberty as well. Wrong people in wrong cabins on wrong dates.
Every dsm has an "inside" person who covers for them.
I have not heard any word about day tours. I turned down a cabin on the Liberty since I had already done the Freedom and have no desire to repeat the insanity.
I managed to get a party of 40 people on board the QM2 last year in Southampton, for a tour and lunch. It took me four years of letter writing and e-mails to Cunard to achieve this. Eventually I succeeded. Mind you they charged me £1200 ($2400).
I find the bigger the cruise line the more unhelpful they are.
