Hi everyone,

Star Cruises has released the page for SuperStar Aquarius, currently sailing as Norwegian Wind:
http://www.starcruises.com/Fleet/Aquarius/index.html

Sadly, one of the outdoor pool is to be turned to casino, as well as various shops, bars and night club. Observation Lounge will be turned to karaoke lounge and be broken into private karaoke rooms.

As rumours suggest, she will likely to end up sailing daily overnight cruises to nowhere from Hong Kong, with occasional destination cruises.

Thanks Andy for the info. I had wonder when Star will release the SUPERSTAR AQUARIUS information.

To hear that the lido pool will give way to a casino is not good...also noticed that the lounges on Deck 10 is disappearing in favor of a larger casino...

What is the deal with some of the fore cabins in the lower decks being taken off? Is the passenger capacity going to be lowered?

I had hope the S.S. AQUARIUS will resume destination itineraries that the former SUPERSTAR LEO had offered. If indeed the S.S. AQUARIUS will sail overnight cruises, will STAR PISCES be moved to another market?

Rumours suggest that Aquarius will only sail daily overnight cruises and occasional 2-night destination cruises, and Pisces will move to sail daily day cruises to nowhere, perhaps plus daily overnight cruises as well. Not sure about Wasa Queen. Just as the policies of Star Cruises, rumours change all the time.

Well I'm very upset with such changes aboard Aquarius... this is obviously a tailor-made casino ship for daily overnight cruises. No way will such a ship fit long destination cruises, I think. What's more, she does not have the speed to keep up with the tight schedule that Leo did. Now I prefer Libra over Aquarius.

Regarding passenger cabins disappearing... well I guess they are to be turned to crew cabins. There are passengers who do not book a cabin and the ship needs extra crew for casino operation! For instance, Pisces has more than 900 crew while full capacity is only 1200... of course the ship seldom sail full and normally has 800 passengers per night, so far as I've observed...

Star is going backwards to become casino ship operators, especially if, as news suggest, Stanley Ho buys into Star.

The NORWEGIAN WIND was the last 7 day cruise my husband and I had together. It was a fantastic trip. Western Caribbean. We loved the aft dining room, it was very easy for him to get to. And to think they're going to do that to this ship. It's a waste.

Ho's bio makes an interesting read. He has 17 children from four publicly acknowledged wives...

The intended refit to the Wind does indeed reflect an operation geared to the casino crowd. It is too bad that some nice public rooms will no longer be available.

I hope that Star Cruises wil implement an itinerary that will have destination cruises on a regular basis. Time will tell.

Dont worry, it is gd to let Stanley Ho in, as he struggles fr gaming industry in Macau.

With Las Vegas Sands's Singapore casino will be opned in 2010 + Genting(star cruise's parent)'s universal Studio .

There will be more ships sailling between Macau/HKG to SIN. Picking up pax fr vietnam, thailand, malaysia.....

Genting said India and China are the 2 main targets for its USD3.6B casino resort in Singapore, Star cruises will bring ppl fr these countries.

Hi everyone,

Star Cruises has just released the itineraries of SuperStar Aquarius ex-Hong Kong:

http://www.starcruises.com/Itineraries/HongKong/index.html#SSQ

As rumoured before, the ship sails daily overnight cruises and two 2-night cruises per month. Thank god she's not doing daily day cruises!
