This past weekend, approximately 3,700 guests embarked on Norwegian Aqua's first week-long voyage to the Caribbean from Port Canaveral, Fla., her initial homeport ...
Latest News...Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: RCL) today reported first quarter Earnings per Share ("EPS") of $2.70 and Adjusted EPS of $2.71. These results were better than the company's guidance due to stronger than expected pricing on close-in demand and lower costs mainly due to timing. Royal Caribbean said that it is increasing its full year 2025 Adjusted EPS guidance to $14.55 to $15.55...
Latest News...Holland America Line announced itineraries for its two Grand Voyages sailing in 2027, offering guests the choice to embark on an ambitious 129-day circumnavigation of the globe on the 2027 Grand World Voyage or a 70-day, region-specific in-depth exploration on the Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage. She was still there on 29 Dec when we arrived back - during late afternoon she moved across to Berth 6, just along from the 2 berths used for the Cruise Terminal.
She no longer appears on the Port Rashid schedules. Looking at Gulf Dream Cruise's site, she seems to have undertaken 3 short cruises to Muscat over the New Year. She should have departed at 9:00 on 30 Dec, but the above photo [bottom one] was taken at 8:00.. hardly a hive of activity? But the move across would make sense if she had been sailing somewhere that day.
So where is she now? Gone from the expected arrivals list..
Pam.. more photos in the galleries
One of her two sisters, ex-Airtours 'Carousel' (originally Royal Caribbean's 'Nordic prince'), will of course be cruising from Tilbury this summer as Transocean's 'Arielle':See Here
She certainly looked a little different with her Viking Crown: See Here

I wonder wht that colour combination is so rare? Is white paint cheaper? Does dark blue/black cause the hull to heat up?

I thought because lighter colors reflect heat, especially white, while darker colors like black absorb it.
I think these look better in all white.

as a Caspi employeei just know that she will be back in mid March in order to "catch" the holiday season (passover), Pam thanks for the photos :-)
quote: Wow, she looks great with a dark hull, as all ships do
i'm with you Malcolm - but you should know that the ONLY(!) one in Caspi who thought that the dark livery would work better was the president Yuval Caspi - all other directors and workers (except me) keep saying that the Blue livery makes her smaller then she really is...etc..

Here's another example. I like the dark-hull livery:Noordam
Noordam in Thomson's colours

Actually we can be thankful that Carnival Corp. has not (yet) given any Grand Class vessels to Holland America, or else that's how they would look. Perhaps not too bad, though--I could get used to that livery.

I think it is just what is in style now and a big white cruise ship is what many passengers seem to expect. In the days before a/c, the white or lighter colored hulls lowered the onboard temperatures several degrees but today w/the high output HVAC systems does it really matter? Black/dark gray is good at concealing rust and rub marks etc. on a hull and that was most likely the reason it was used on most transatlantic liners. Celebrity tried to do that fussy blue, gold and red a few years ago and thankfully gave it up IMO.
