Good evening one and all, Happy New Year!

Great firework display on the Southampton waterfront this evening to mark QE2's 25th World cruise, here are 4 x photos I took, hope you like them!

Patsy, didn't get time to get across the lock to your bench, sorry!

WOW, fabulous photos, especially the 2nd one. What a wonderful display, trust Cambodge and 'pals' enjoyed it.

Great shots, Andrew. Mine aren't anywhere near as good. Didn't it get crowded? More than half of them went after the fireworks. Did you get the message I was sending up towards the lock about the 7pm sailing? I didn't think it would be fair leaving those poor people to freeze like that. My dad wondered where I'd gone. LOL! I came back down and asked these people if they'd heard. The man replied some bloke had told them but they weren't sure if it was a wind up. Disappointed it wasn't the 10 minutes it said in the paper. But it was an excellent display. We ended up sat down the front when someone with a camera set up in our way then left after the fireworks.

Those are about the best firework photos I 've ever seen , and QE2 is nicely seen in the corner , great shots.

I just wish that first one I posted wasn't a bit blurry and Lizzie was clearer on them all. Still we had good weather. Sunday looks awful with gales and rain again. Do you think they'll cancel if it's really bad?

Hi, thanks to everyone who has posted such kind comments, its nice to know that my photos are appreciated!

Patsy, I liked your photos, in fact one of them is nigh on the same as the one in tonights Echo. Perhaps yoy are the Echo photographer in disguise!

I heard about the delayed departure on my marine radio, your message didn't filter across the lock!

Not sure if I'll be able to take any on Sunday for the "Saga's", its all down to whether my son or daughter decides to be born on the meantime (due date Friday!).

Damn you discovered my secret. I am Malcolm Nethersole. LOL! Tell you what though. I was so pleased to see Lizzie dark in his too. I don't feel so much of a failure now.

At least you knew about the delay. Were there many people your side?

That's only two days. Only seems five minutes since you were looking forward to thoughts on the Arcadia visit as you were both going 6 months later. Tell he or she to wait until the 8th. If it's born on the 7th we'll know you have a budding ship lover there who wanted to see it. Good luck to the pair of you.

Hi, I use a Canon EOS 10D, and my trusty old friend a Canon Ixus 300.

The QE2 and most of the others posted over the last few months were with the EOS.

The EOS is superb, and the quality of the lens is fantastic. Its 6m pixels, which, by some of the camera's out today is not that many, but for me it does a great job!

Although the Ixus is mega old, and is only 2.1m pixels, its a great camera, in fact a lot of the photos in my photo galleries are taken with that.

The Purser's Office reports a full ship. But they usually do to discourage requests for upgrades. Many Pax, booked Worldcruise, are transfering to QM2 at Ft. Lauder. for her W'Cruise. Two will be in progress. Pax state that QE2 is covering well-worn global pit stops - my term, not their's - while QM2 is covering new geography.

Speaking of such, this will be first visit of QE2 to Brooklyn Cruise terminal...[Cue distant sound of one hand clapping.]
