hello

here is the second part :
http://ferriesandcruiseships.t35.com/cruise_ships_2.htm

that's true that Barcelona is a great place to spot ships, and particulary cruisers, there were more than 90 cruise ships in July. It's the first port in Europe for cruisers.

But I would say that to spot ferries, Pireaus is better, but well, Barcelona is great too. I intend to go back there in december or january.

as said Pam, the Good place to take photos there is the boat tour, near the world trade center and Grand marina hotel( I should sleep there the next time ) but there is also the bridge which bring you where the cruise ships are, you have a great view on them from it, for exemple the pics of the Millenium that you can see on my site were taken from this point. And the point is great to see the ferries entering, exiting and maneuvring in the port.

You can also some Good pics (if you have a great zoom) from Montjuïc.

Cheers
Lucas

All great photos Lucas thanks
I have never walked across the bridge.. next time as you get a good angle there.

I have stayed there a couple of times now, fabulous, and I would never consider staying anywhere else to be honest. Not cheap by any means, but well worth it for the situation and convenience for getting about the city.

jeffrossatsea, you can walk from the ship in the Moll adossant to the city by the brigde. Is not a short walk (1 mile to Columbus Monument) but very agreable in a sunny day in November.

I was expecting to see the Voyager of the Seas in the pixs as it does the western Med out of Barcelona. We depart from there on the Voyager on 10/28 ,the last Med cruise before coming back to the Carribean for Winter cruises. Not sure if we will have any time to see much of Barcelona. I believe we have an early departure time. We should have scheduled a few days there before the cruise. However the hotels were expensive$$$$.

There is a nice photo of VOTS berthed at Barcelona on 30 Sept here. You will be berthed at the same spot [1E] and departure time is 19:00 according to the Port schedule. However as Millennium will be berthed at the same spot 1E from 13:00 onwards, I think there is something amiss in the schedule... the following day Rotterdam arrives to berth at 1E on top of Millennium who overnights, could be quite a stack there -p

Oriana will be in port too on 28th.
