I know I may be a little out of it, but what ever happened to Windjammer's Amazing Grace? I remember reading some really terrible reviews and that the ship was experiencing engine difficulty.

funny you bring this topic up....just lately i have been thinking of this little windjammer service freighter too.....and have'nt seen anything on her as well.....jeff

I don't think that AMAZING GRACE is currently sailing for Windjammer--they had taken her off the Caribbean supply run already. A few days ago in the Miami Herald there was an advert showing the ship for sale, with all of her particulars. I didn't save the advert and now I can't remember who the broker was.

I have another Windjammer question someone here might answer. Some years ago they bought the ex NOAA research vessel DISCOVERER for conversion to a sail rigged cruiseship...did this project ever get started and if so, where is the conversion process at?

ps..I always liked the idea of offering cabins to passengers on a small interisland type vessel like the AMAZING GRACE. I wonder why the concept failed?

I really don't know--I guess by shipping containers to various ports. AMAZING GRACE was taken off the Caribbean run over a year ago, to be placed in the Pacific doing cruises on the West Coast of Panama. Those apparently did not work out well (the rates were extremely high.)
