Curious? Does anyone know what is going on with this ship? I think Saga bought her, but she doesn't show up on their website.

She is marketed separately and has her own website, Spirit of Adventure. Although part of the Saga Group, she is not just for retirees; the age limit is 21.

Hey, I did not know that. Now swap the ugly Berlin for the lovely Sagafjord and I am happy. (...O.K. I take it back - she seems to be nice ship after the refit....)

Ernst they removed the age limit soon after SH announced Minerva II was to be no more next year... it was mentioned in the thread discussing that at the time.. no doubt to provide an alternative similar type of cruise for the SH regulars.

Well, then we should tell them that former loyal customers of Swan Hellenic can ONLY be attracted by a ship like the Saga Rose.

To be on the safe side they actally should add the Saga Ruby too - the post refit photos just look too good.....

I think Saga Ruby looks like a Gentleman's Club of yore with cluttered decks. Her interiors, certainly in photogrpahs, look very dismal to me, especially the collection in C Lines recently.

I know what you mean - when I have been on the Vistafjord she appeared crapmped dark and 'dusted' - some details like the signal lights at the cabins doors ehanced the dismal impression.
But whereas the Vistafjord was a ship from the 70ies the Sagafjord is a notch older - and this makes her more cozy.
Nevertheless, the Berlin BY FAR exceed them concerning being stuffed, narrow dark and to a certain extent tacky.

To make it even more confusing: From the pictures I saw the Saga Ruby seem now to be the nicer ship after the refit (actally because she seems to be brighter now) - and also the Berlin seems to be much better than she was.

Sagafjord is nevertheless more original - what was not so special some years ago is suddenly the rare exception - mostly because the others disappeared.

P.S.: Personally, I would have less a problem if they changed from over 50 policy to a 'gentleman's club'.
