Just got a copy of the Mediterranean 2007 brochure of Princess cruises, introducing both the brand new Emerald Princess and the new Royal Princess.

There are several errors about the Royal Princess.

On page 53 Princess has published the photos of the cabins of the original Royal Princess... the same old ones displayed on the brochure of P&O Cruises.
Only the photo of the inside cabin is correct (it was probably taken from the Pacific or the Tahitien Princess or the Minerva II).

On page 62 Princess has published the deck plan of the Royal Princess, using that of the Pacific or the Tahitien Princess.

We know that as the current Minerva II the Royal Princess features cabins with private balconies and NOT mini-suites on deck 8.

I don't believe that Princess will rebuild this deck when the Minerva II will move from Swan Hellenic Cruises...

Just another observation about the planned itineraries of the Royal Princess: after many years the company is planning to return to the Holy Land

Lately I have noticed lost of errors in the Princess brochures. Pictures of the wrong ships or photo shopped pictures ( like the Grand with the MUTS screen attached to the funnel). And the deck plan of the Crown (Plaza Deck ) is the Grand's, not showing the new features like the wine bar.

Who ever is review the brochures before they go to press doen't have a clue about the fleet. Princess really needs to get this fixed.

Also if you have got a good eye some brochures print photos of ships flipped back to front. Usually the port and starboard side of a cruise ship there are allot of differences. Brochures flip the photos from left to right or vice versa to make it look good in the book.

My pet hate is clipping a photo of a ship and placing it in another photo in front of spectacular scenery the ship has never been to.

And sometimes you don't even need a good eye. An NCL howler delivered to me recently had a ship picture flipped left-to-right - it was obvious because someone had forgotten to change the orientation of all the letters on the side of the ship.

I bet they do it deliberatly out of some sort of paranoia to prevent competing companies stealing their images.

I have seen the procedures you have to go to on the Princess site to view their media pictures. They are a treasured possession.

Surely a publisher has brains to get the fares right and the pages in order so they cant be stupid.

Its only a picture of a ship though. But still if you were looking in a real estate guide to buy a house and it was back to front when you arrived to look at it you would ask questions.
