My first post. (but no maiden and not fare paying).

It's always interesting to read your postings.
Thank you for sharing your passion, creativity and knowledge.

Now it's time to give something back.

For those of you who couldn't attend the maiden (fare-paying) cruise of the Freedom of the Seas today in Miami, I took these pictures for you and I hope you enjoy them.

Gallery Here

If by chance I didn't copy the link correctly, please visit my photo album "Freedom OTS Maiden Miami Cruise" in the Photo Gallery.

I also have two other albums in the Photo Gallery that are of the Freedom of the Seas arriving in Miami for the first time (via the webcam) and the ship docked by day and by dusk.

Wishing you all the best.

Cheers,

Jack

Glad you liked the pictures. It's my pleasure to share them.

Thanks for tidying up the link, Joe and for the helpful suggestion Waynaro. Your kind welcome was very much appreciated as well, Malcolm.

After seeing this impressive ship from the outside, I too will be very curious to read Ernie Roller's review upon his return next week.

I get something together soon, but meanwhile I can tell you my report will be rather glowing. It was an exceptional experience from beginning to end in more ways than one.

Welcome Home, Ernie!

That statement about your positive experience is enough to want to know more! Guess that's why they call them teasers. Does "in more ways than one" mean you won the contest for best surfer??!

Just wondering what the shoreline looked like from the ship as it seemed surprisingly crowded. Not QM2 in Hamburg crowded, but I was pleased to be amongst an enthusiastic and excited crowd.

And yes, that car chasing the ship down the causeway with the digital camera sticking out of the sunroof was I. And if any of you are Miami-Dade police officers, I'm just kidding. But I DID get ahead of the ship in order to get more shots at SouthPoint/South Beach .

Now please Ernie, tell ALL!

Cheers,
Jack*

Hey Jack,
More to come soon! Unfortunately I can't tell all as Cruise Talk is a "G-Rated" site!

I think I might have seen you chasing the FREEDOM! Our Miami departure was too much fun. There was also a very fast cigarette boat chasing us up and down the channel and one of the passengers kept mooning us! Too funny.

Ernie

"There was also a very fast cigarette boat chasing us up and down the channel and one of the passengers kept mooning us!"

Ernie,

Yes, you couldn't miss seeing or hearing that boat zip back and forth. Here it is seen from the shore:

Mooning?! That IS very funny! I can only imagine what it was like on deck. My guess is that SOME walked away in disgust while some encouraged others to look!

You couldn't tell on shore as the boat was shooting up such a wake/spray and was going by so fast. However, the 'slightly' larger boat was taking a tad more focus - as it should!

Oh, I understand about not sharing EVERYthing,
but I welcome reading your observations and comments.

Among them I'd especially like to hear about what impressed you most about the design of the ship. Also, what crew member stood out and why.

For now, I hope you are rested up from your vacation and TRY not to compare where you are today and where you were a week ago.

Cheers,
Jack*
