Nice images! She looks in very good condition, externally. She's the sister to Airtous 'Sundream' is she not?

Anyone got interior images of either of these ships?

The first time I signed-on to work on a cruise ship was the Nordic Prince doing the Bermuda run. Nice to see her again. Miss the Viking Crown Lounge though.

I have seen older pics from before the Viking Crown Lounge was removed. It sure would have been an active for the ship if it still was there.
I dont know why it was removed on both sisters (Carousel and Sundream)
Sunbird (now Thomson Destiny) who also is a former RCI ship, still have the Viking Crown Lounge today.
Maybe other CruiseTalkers know the story?

Sincerely René

When RCCL sold the Song of Norway, Nordic Prince and Sun Viking they required that the Crown Lounges be removed as they were a trade mark of RCCL. The Song of America (miss that ship) could not have it removed since it was built around the funnel rather then attached to it. It was also not as much a trade mark then.

The olders ships Viking Crown Lounges weren't very spacious or easy to get to (long stair case outside) so other then looks, they weren't much to write home about. Song of America's was the first truely functional lounge.

Thank You very much sunviking82 for the release of the "mysterium" around the Viking Crown Lounges.
