Great question! Then we can avoid cruising on them.
(There's a lot more than 131 cruise ships in service, in the world!)
So my guess is, that within the mainstream US based lines you may well come across 3 female captains... who they are I haven't a clue.

Come on - what is wrong with a charming femal captain or officer? (I did not yet travel with a femal captain but with femal officers) Beside that - 'girls' are usually more ambitiouse - to say the least - so I see only advantages.

If female officers can command US naval vessels, and they do, female first officers on both passenger and cargo vessels could, would, and should be commonplace!
