i wonder if the final passengers managed to take home a nice momento? im sure there would be specific signs and goods with logos on etc which would no longer be needed.

maybe someone was lucky enough to get a plastic ice holder with a tacky P&O sticker plasted over the old princess logo?

I wish I'd known when we went on Sky in 2004 it would be the last time I'd be on her.. I'd been on her once before in July 2001 and we were delayed a day back into Sydney because of a severe storm..she rode it out well. She's a lovely ship and despite her recent mechanical problems which the media loved to report on, I think she'll be greatly missed. We've been on subsequent cruises on Pacific Sun and Pacific Star, both nice ships...but the most common thing heard on board was "it's not as good as Sky". The lack of a decent amount of outdoor deck space seems to be the major difference..as the ships get newer, outside deck space gets reduced. I guess it's because they want you inside spending money..

Sky did have a reasonable amount of deck space, that is going to be a big problem with the new Dawn /Regal P. there is a distinct lack of good deck space, the area around the pools is packed solid ona good day and there is no real alternative, bear in mind that is current with the average age of a pax on her cruises being well into the 50s or 60s, when she arrives in Aussie the average age will be much lower thus the demand for deck space higher, I have to admit I never liked these sisters and having taken them both out on their maidens and stayed with both for their first few months I got to know them well, not a patch on the Sun class or even the Royal.

The Regal Princess did have some of Princess's
best staterooms.....if not the best. Another drawback is the very limited out of doors viewing area at the forward end of the ship.

Seems a bit odd that we went from 3 ships, down to 2 for more than a year! Whens the Dawn meant to arrive? Last next year or something. Then at that stage, we have a massive surge in capacity.

If demand is that high to warrant 3 ships, how are we going to deal with 2? Then when we get 3, what the?
