Dear friends

Just to say that there was a gossip spread among crew members of the cruise ship THOMSON CELEBRATION during this week´s call in the port of Funchal that Louis Cruises had purchased the NORWEGIAN MAJESTY????????to became the "SEA PEARL"??????

Can someone confirm this??

Please note that this is not a confusion with the former BIRKA PRINCESS which will be the "SEA DIAMOND"...

Regards

Silja Opera is waiting in the dock some one to buy her and the price is said to be cheap. I think she could end up to Louis.

I doubt NCL will sell any ships right now - especially outside the Star-NCL-Orient families.

Then again, anything is possible...

Since Louis Plans are to renew its fleet and get rid of his old tonnage, NORWEGIAN MAJESTY will be a good addiction to his fleet.
As far as i know Ausonia, Serenade, Princessa Marissa, and Emerald are for sale. So with the new addition it's possible to see one older ship to be sold by Louis.
If Louis buy NORWEGIAN MAJESTY i bielive is going to operate from the Uk, since Louis have entered the UK Market

Once again I wonder who has cruised with Louis? I sailed on The Emerald and was delighted by the ship, the food, the shows and the service - I think they offer an extremely decent product.

mec1: What is EMERALD like? Are there any remnants of her time with Grace Line in the 50s/60s? Cabins for instance? I know she is still a turbine ship.

I have been on Louis Cruises ships:
PRINCESA VICTORIA 2000
SERENADE 2003
SAPPHIRE 2004
AUSONIA 2005

I was everytime satisfied with the cruise, especially SAPPHIRE and AUSONIA are up to modern standards and in very good shape. Service was very friendly and good. And the prices are very reasonable, for the cruise and on board!

I really can answer the question: "Would you recommend this cruise to your friends?" with a big YES!!

hello

that's good if Louis will buy a new ship, I think that the silja opera is perfect for them. Not too big, not too small. Perfect in fact.

However, my greek friends has not heard something about that. So maybe it's a false rumour, we will see.

I think that Louis has to renew her old fleet and add more ships. I love their actual ships, but for exemple,I read something about the Coral, and after to read that you didn't want to do a cruises onboard her. However I am sure there is a great ambiance onboard ship such as the Sahpphire, Ausonia and the crew could be very good.

In fact, they have to buy the Silja opera, which is good vessel.

Lucas,
CORAL is the former TRITON of Royal Olympic Cruises. I cruised on this ship accidentally in 2002 as ROC changed the ships assigned to the Venice-based Greece cruise from ODYSSEUS to TRITON. I was very much disappointed when I was informed. While I found the TRITON's interiors uninspiring (almost no work of art), and the cabins small, the service was good, and the price cheap. The crew was very kind and the itinerary interesting. So I did not regret to have done it. I would not call the ship a desaster even if she can be crowded when full.
