Mmmmm...cant wrap my mind around why a cruise ship needs a boxing ring?... ...

For the first time ever, experienced boxers looking to hone their skills or novices wanting to try something new can get their fill while onboard a cruise ship.

With Freedom's "Fight Klub," guests can test their chops with a variety of boxing-related activities, including one-on-one training sessions with an experienced instructor inside a full-size 20' by 20' Everlast boxing ring.

Multiple Everlast speed bags, jump ropes, heavy bags and padded punching mitts are available. Additionally, groups of three people can partake in sparring sessions with freestanding body master bags, all supervised by an on- site boxing coach. Die-hard Rocky wannabes can train in three one-hour sessions with a boxing coach -- the workout includes a warm up, bag work, mirror boxing, footwork and pad work.

Well this should help contribute to "cruise rage", encouraging violent feelings and behavior among the passengers!

...or it helps to minimize violence aboard cruise ships as people will have an opportunity to release some agression there in a more controlled manner.

Maybe i'm a bit of a prude, but why pick such a violent sports? Mind you some of the passengers will probably love it!

Of course it's a pretty cheap addition to a ship compared to a Flow Rider, Ice rink or full sized bowlling alley.

I can't imagine the amount of waivers and disclaimers which will have to be signed, protecting RCI from lawsuits by injured guests. But I guess it's not really any different from using the ice rinks or rock-climbing walls.

Yes, RCI make you sign a waiver to ice skate and rock climb.

On my last RCI cruise, there was a couple who sparred every afternoon in the fitness center, face masks and all. I think on a ship with as many passengers as Freedom a boxing ring could be a pretty popular place.

Maybe they will install a 'stripper's pole in the gym as well. Striptease style dancing is becoming a very popular form of exercise.

Wait, let's look at the upside of this. Think how much extra money the casinos might be able to rake in if they take bets on the fighters.
