Which RCI ship did you cruise?
If you are looking for a 'American' experoence again; the 'Norwegian Cruise Line' and 'Princess' both have some nice new ships and offer a similar product to RCI, with some differances.
NCL in particular have very good fares.
My 2005 vacation was onboard Explorer, and was my second with her.
Have to admit, I do like the all American big ship feel, but would be willing to try a smaller ship, although it must have the option of casual evening dining.
The initial answer was "FREEDOM FREEDOM FREEDOM" but I don't really like her itinery although the ship would still be amazing.
Firstly RCI's 'Radience' class ships are great. They are still petty big. You don't get a Royal Prom or Ice rink but they have many other qualities.
Most ships have a casual dining option these days, but NCL pride themselves in their 'Freestyle' dining choices, especially on their new ships.
Have you thought about a cruise from a UK port - return? The Baltic cruises visit many wonderful cities. The Fjord's are wonderful if you enjoy unspoilt scenary.
If you fancy a more upmarket (expensive) British/traditional experience there is of course P&O and Cunard. The QM2 is wonderful, very different to Explorer, bigger, less crowded (1000 less people), but rather expensive.
Smaller ship can be quite a refreasing contrast from mega-ships. If yopu do not mind cruising with an older age group, I'd reccomend Olsen's ships, but not the Black Prince.
