We were on Sea Princess during her 1st life w/Princess Cruises a few years ago. I believe she went to P&O for a few years and now is back at Princess. We enjoyed this ship very much. Her size is large (over 70,000 tons) and not in the mega ship class which is a good size IMO. The dining rooms are divided into smaller sections which gives the impression of being in a more intimate room. The other public rooms seem to be typical of other Princess ships, tasteful but a very restrained decor. The cabins are comfortable (we had a verandah which was approx 190 sq. feet) and divided in to standard inside, outside w/a window, verandah cabins and suites. The decorating seemed to be very similar when I looked around before we sailed. The pools areas are divided so it is easy to find a quite palce to relax. The area forward of the mast on the top deck is a great place to read and sun though it can be windy at times. The food was quite good and the overall service was excellent. We like Princess very much so I am biased. On another note, the Sun class of ships of which Sea Princess is one are some of the better looking cruise ships at sea today.

I couldn't agree more. I have been a the Sun and Dawn(twice) and love this class of ship. Especially the location and view from the Horizon Court and the Pizzeria on the fourth floor of the Attrium. The Wheelhouse Lounge is wonderful before or after dinner too. The cabins nice, but the balaconies a little small compared to the Grand Class new builds. But they are my FAVORIATE class of ship.

I also sailed her during her previous life in 1998 I believe. I have also sailed the Sun and Dawn and I love this class of ship. It is on the Sea Princess that I fell in love with cruising. She is a lovely ship.

Sea Princess sailed as "Adonia" (Adults Only) for P&O for a few years between the old "Arcadia" being transferred to "Ocean Village" and the new "Arcadia" being launched.

This class of ship has probably the best open decks and pool areas, but some cabins, in particular the inside cabins, can be tiny.

The entertainment decks are pleasant, with a well designed Atrium and a nice staircase to the pleasantly decorated (not too glitzy) Casino.

I have sailed on "Sun Princess" in the Caribbean and on "Sea Princess" during her "Adonia" incarnation. The children's paddling pool was replaced by a peaceful Feng Shui garden with wooden beds, and the Kids Clubroom was reincarnated as a sea view bar with massage chairs!

IMHO "Adonia" was better than the new "Arcadia", although the inside cabins on "Arcadia" are much larger: the best I have seen!

The stern area benefits from a sheltered pool, three Hot Tubs and a pleasant bar.

Hi,

It seems to be an often recurring theme that the ''Sun/Dawn/Ocean/Sea'' class of the late 90's are among the most popular, still to this day, of the '' new'' generation of ships. I sailed two of them, and also two of the newer ( Island and Diamond)...and I still favour the older ones.
For all the reasons earlier posts are referring to.
Yes, the balconies are a bit '' smaller''...but they are ALL private, true to form balconies, not part-patio or full patio like on the newer classes ( Grand and Island....).You stillcan enjoy a full view.

Cheers
CG
