Have a look at the latest photos of Omar Star (ex-Radisson Diamond) in Hong Kong. The ship is currently in drydock and repainting is underway. One of the dark blue strips is now painted orange.
Another photo showing the ship alongside China Merchant Kennedy Town:
The orange? Not another easyCruise!

Cheers
Omar III-------the lace--------well it certainly is different, isn't it.
But then again, look at NCL's new ships with all the art.
I wonder if in the future, as part of "Daily Activities," NCL will have passengers hanging down the sides of the ships and doing Paint By Numbers on the hull? For an extra charge of course.
Regards,Mike--in Taipei, where Typhoon whatever it's called is starting to make its appearance.
The ship is out of drydock and is now alongside China Merchant Kennedy Town again:
"Asia Star" in English and Chinese is on her funnel and the strip respectively:
The ship name is still Omar Star but she has the marketing name as "Asia Star".

Regards,Mike--in Taipei, leaving for China tomorrow
The orange strip makes her look strange. Currently I don't see any renderings showing what she will like finally, perhaps like OMAR III her appearance will have some minor changes. I'll keep you all updated.
She is supposed to be in service in September, so I expect some interior works are still to be done, like a high-tech casino. I don't expect them to expand the casino - OMAR III's casino is quite small though.

When the RSSC website had RADISSON DIAMOND's deck plans they had a graphic showing a profile of her, in that you could see she had ducts covering her propellers. As for the fins, they shouldn't be stabilizers, especially not in the vicinity of the propellers. They are most probably for improving the flow of water to the propellers.

It seems as if the fins are not movable - actually there are some vertical structures hidden below the fins. I still do not really see what these fins are actually doing. (..."optimizing" the wake for the proeller - yes, but how?)I also heard about other things RSSC (or who ever gave them advice) tried to improve the hydrodynamics of their ships, which just turned out to be very wrong.
