Just got off the Aegean I, Golden Star. I had read horrid reviews pre cruise. I have nothing but good to report. We were given a comp cabin for the day sail from Pireaus to Mykonos, we were given an upgrade from inside to outside for the 4 day sail. We received a comp bottle of wine and a full evening with the capt & crew, diner, show and disco we were the only guests at his tables. This is a tourist class ship, but the ship was clean, staff was great, pool was in great shape as well as the deck. The cabin was just fine. This ship had gotten a bad rap....I just want to give it a great report.

Dana, it is good to hear you had a good time and that things went well. By the way, did they know you were a travel agent?

Is this the same ship that did a couple of world
cruises for The World Cruise Co. of Toronto? I
know they used the former Emerald Seas, but
they also used a smaller vessel which held about
450 pax. Does anyone know if this is the one?

Dana:
Nice to hear that your 4 day cruise on your Greek trip turned out well. It appears that Louis may have turned this good little cruise ship around.
Great news in my opinion, because this ship's 3 and 4 day itineraries are great for visiting the Greek Islands and Kusadasi in Turkey.

I am curious to know if Louis has plans to merge the fleet or keep the two brand identities and transfer/acquire ships for GoldenStar Cruises?

I would think Aegean 1 would be transferred to Louis Hellenic it would be the best thing to do. As she doesn't need any of her past with Golden Sun surrounding her!
