I don't know if this is already here,
but S.O has received new (or old) paint, on his upper structure.
Old all white turned up more blue.
old: http://www.faktaomfartyg.com/silja_opera_1992_bild_2.htm
And new, all most finished: http://www.faktaomfartyg.com/silja_opera_1992_b_11.htm
Style is same as in old Sally Albatross.
Imo better looking than, orginal S.O style

Hello Hopo,

Welcome aboard Cruise Talk.

Thanks for posting the links to Silja Opera photos.

I have so many great memories of this ship when she was sailing as SuperStar Taurus here in Asia.

I quite often look at my photos from all my cruises aboard Taurus and wish that this ship was still here in Asia. A great ship that was always fun.

Regards,
Mike--still in TaiShan

Here's an old review from when she sailed as Leeward for NCL. We took her to Canada / New England and she was a nice little ship although the cabins were tiny - the smallest we have ever stayed in.

Yeah this new blue paint goes back to her Leeward days. IMO I love the paint up there as opposed to the plain white. I am glad to see they are doing this.

actually Hopo, this is how Sally Albatross looked first

Sally Albatross, 1986

then She was modernized, then burned, Then they built the new Sally Albatross (some think it´s the same ship, some think it´s completely new one) upon the old underwater part of the old one (same engines), then in 1994 the SA went aground, leased to NCL, then transferred to Star, and when the 9/11 hit, Star/NCL break the lease, and she came back to Baltic.

quite a history

no, it´s not ugly I love the look of that ferry. I´ve been on her sister Regina Baltica and I loved that ship. very different ship, and very low noise and vibration from the engines. Smooth ride

Regina Baltica, Tallink

If someone is interested about interior pictures of Regina baltica of other ferries of baltic heres my fotogallery

I found the Leeward to have it's own "charm"...but I have to say, we had an outside cabin on deck 4 aft that was the largest outside cabin I've ever had...we had more room than we knew what to do with....and the room had all wood furnishings to boot!!!

Here are some pics of one of the staterooms that I occupied aboard SuperStar Taurus.
Can't remember what deck, but more than likely it wan an upper deck.

And what I call a "do it all at once"bathroom

Regards,
Mike--in TaiShan with horrid weather
