Dear all,

I am pleased to announce that the ENCHATED CAPRI (ex AZERBAYDZHAN) will finally return to Europe. Metropolis Tur, a Russian tour-operator, has chartered the vessel as a replacement for the OLVIA which is employed in Asia as the casino vessel CT NEPTUNE since Fall last year.
The CAPRI has been chartered for 6 months, with an option to extend for six more months.

The Ukrainian owners (part of old BLASCO-company) have previously refurbished the vessel in Freeport / Bahamas to be conform to the latest SOLAS restrictions and she got added the latest technical equipment for navigation.
As well, the slot-machines and gambeling tables remaining from the previous co-charter with Commodore and Isle of Capri Casinos were thrown out to make space for needed dining-room.

The vessel will start in June with cruises from Sochi and then continues around Western Europe towards St. Petersburg which will be its homeport for the summer season. More details can be checked at www.mkruiz.ru but the site is not yet updated with vessel's information as the charter has only been signed recently.

Meanwhile a postcard-impression published by Metropolis Tur and a new deckplan:

The CAPRI will sail with mainly Russian and Ukrainian tourists onboard.

Feel free to contact me directly for any further information:

On another note, I have been getting quite a bit of questions about Odessa through my website... What's the status there? And please no bad news!! I cannot bear any!!!

Hello Ata,

let me see if I can get you a postcard. I might take some time.

About ODESSA: We are working on it. Please be a bit patient. Most things are settled. I cannot say more for now but be sure that we do our best to return her on the German market for Spring 2006 with her current name, under our own control.

More to follow.

DEMAR re-charters Enchanted Capri
April 5, 2005

Enchanted Capri, on charter to Mexican company DEMAR for an 18-month period which ended in January, has been secured by the Mexicans for a further six months starting next week. The charter is a deck and engine timecharter, for a period of six months, with a further option of six months. ISP Management has the technical deck and engine management of the vessel on behalf of owners, Faraglioni Ltd.

The 937-passenger capacity vessel built in 1975 at Wartsila, Finland will be delivered on April 18, in Freeport, Grand Bahamas, to DEMAR, Mexico. According to International Shipping Partners the vessel will be available for charter and/or sale for delivery prior to the summer season 2006.

just to explain:
DEMAR has signed a time-charter for 6 months. Time-charter in this
case means that they will take the vessel until end of May when it
will be delivered in Sochi to Metropolis Tur. Metropolis operates her
during the summer in Europe, until 2nd November and then she will be
redelivered to DeMar by the owners who will operate her during the
winter again, for the rest of the charter-period. A Time-charter does
not always mean that the company which charters the vessel keeps her
the entire time after it begins. It can also be "step by step".

Both companies will have her 6 months, with option to extend a
further six months.

You'll find the itinerary of ENCHANTED CAPRI for Europe at
www.mkruiz.ru and also at www.sacvoyage.com.ua/cru/sochi2005.htm
including a postcard-picture of the vessel published by Metropolis.

DeMar will only employ her in the Mexican Golf.

Hope this cleared the things.

Patrick

SO she will sail Russia in the summer and Mexico in the winter? Is there a reposioning cruise? or do they sail her back empty? And is there now no gambling on board? Sounds like she has a good gig.

Hi stepplechase,

the deal was cancelled due to some reasons which I do not want to comment here.
Metropolis Tur has now chartered the BERLIN instead which was recently renamed ORANGE MELODY and is about to leave to Sochi from Genoa.

ENCHANTED CAPRI will remain for the moment in the Caribbean, for DeMar Cruises.

If all goes well, we might see her next year in Europe (hopefully) !
