P&O has update their site and a new video on the ARCADIA. She is coming along nicely! Much of the Cunard "feel" has been carried over...

Based upon this video, the Arcadia in her interior seems very similar in design and decor to a Holland America Vista ship, I recognize that the Arcadia was orginally the 5th Vista ship for Holland America before ending up finally with P&O but they seem to have kept all the same internal features,

It will be interesting to see how the P&O Vista and the HAL Vista compare.

I think it is very hard to tell from the video what she is going to look like - but I have no idea what Keitaro means about a cunard feel.....

I think It's going to be even more interesting to see what Cunard does with their Vista ship "Victoria". I hope I'ts going to be much different.

I supose we will have to wait and see what Cunard are up to soon.

Well, looking at the lady, she kinda looks and there aren't much looking at that site, but it kinda feels "Spiritesque" If I say so myself.

She was intended to be the 4th Vista ship (actually she would be the Noordam 4) buth the order was transfered to Cunard to become there Queen Victoria etc. etc. There was a option to a 5th ship wich was chansed in a order she will become the Noordam in januari ore februari 2006. Carnival/HAL desided thene that this Noordam would be the last Vista ordered fore HAL.

I think I am right in saying that QV actually started out as a HAL vessel? Anyway, the video reveals very little. The unfinished ship looks like every other new ship, at present.

I too had assumed that in the re-badging (Cunarder to P&O) that most of the Cunard style decore would be retained. However, I am assured that much of the Cunard decor had not been fully completed, so Arcadia is not the Queen Victoria, in disguise.

Interestingly I heard it was the Princess team that was involved in the interior design and not the QM2 team?

So will Arcadia feel like a P&O ship, a Cunarder, a HAL or a Princess vessel? Or are ships so homogenous these days that it is impossible to tell them apart, anyway?

There are some public room that uses soft furnishing and a bit like the QM2's decor. Then again, the main show lounge looks like it came from HAL....

One thing I am curious though. When construction first started, was she a HAL ship or already given to Cunard?
